The larger investment banks also have programmes kicking off,
focusing on improving front-end processes on the trading floor
and they seem to be leading the way in many cases. In an Investment
Bank for instance, the traders and sales people are busy individuals
who are not interested in cutting cost; their working life
revolves around top line growth and the figures on the P&L
at the end of the working week. The investment banks who are
implementing Six Sigma have realised this and have refocused
the strategy to complete quick win projects on defects like
reducing the time it take to complete the 'new client dealing'
process. What these projects are doing is allowing the traders
to complete transactions faster and more efficient. thus meeting
the client CTQ's and putting more $'s in the traders and sales
persons books. These types of projects will increase the number
of significant improvements across Banking / Financing industry.
